Emerging Issues at the Board Table (Ray Hendriks)
In our work with Boards over the last few years there are a number of questions/concerns that are common to many school boards. Ray Hendriks will present a number of documents for discussion that Board’s will find helpful in addressing some of these concerns. These documents will include:
1. Conflict of Interest Policy
2. Board member confidentiality agreement
3. The use of email and board business
4. A template for regular reporting of the Board to its membership
**NEW** Better Together Q & A (Fred Verwoerd, Board Chair)
Please note due the technical difficulties with the Better Together webinar, The Conflicted CSI Relationship (Jules de Jager) workshop has been replaced with an opportunity for further discussion on the Better Together Q&A document. For your convenience a copy of the document will be included in your registration package.
The OACS News Service (Chris van Donkelaar & Carla Alblas)
The OACS News Service shares Christian education stories with parents about things that are happening in their neighbourhood. These stories celebrate a school’s creative teaching and community contributions—giving parents a behind-the-scenes look at what’s happening in a school. By weaving all these individual stories together, the movement of Christian education across the province comes into focus. Come talk to Chris and Carla about the news stories we create every week, our favourite examples, and how much we want to work with you to share your news stories!
