Timothy Christian School’s (TCS) Grade 2 class has launched a “Do Something” Campaign of kindness, which aims to share kindness and love to the broader Barrie Community in various ways. With great excitement, the Grade 2 class picked up garbage and litter at Marsellus Community Park today, as their first act of kindness.
It was a labour of love as each student volunteered to work energetically in the park’s 5 acres of land. The “Do Something” Campaign grew from the students’ desire to spread God’s love to more than each other and to reach out to the community, just as Jesus did. The students are hoping to lead by example, in a way that inspires others to carry out acts of kindness.
“I believe that in order to provide a great learning environment, you must become excited and energized about what you are teaching and towards the students you teach. Education begins in the classroom but it must go deep in order to motivate greatness in our children,” says Tamara Wright, grade 2 teacher at TCS. “I believe that in order to achieve this greatness students need inspirational experiences from which they can make a difference by sharing their talents. Timothy Christian School is an environment that shares my vision as a teacher and creates a learning environment that promotes greatness in every student.”
