Students and staff at Strathroy Community Christian School celebrated Flag Day recently, as part of the Canada 150 celebrations across the country. The events took place on February 15th, organized by Mrs. Tauschek’s Language class. The celebration began with an assembly, during which each student was given a hand-held Canadian flag. The grade 8 band opened the assembly by playing our national anthem, while students entered, waving their flags. A media presentation on the history of the Canadian flag was presented by the grade 6 class, after which the entire school engaged in a prayer for Canada.
The highlight of the morning was forming a giant “150” outside, with all of the students waving their flags. A drone flew overhead and took photos of the students in the snow.
Happy Anniversary, Canada!
