Halton Hills Christian School (HHCS) began dreaming about expanding its facilities close to five years ago. With the establishment of the Cornerstone Capital Campaign two years ago, that vision became an exciting possibility for the community. On November 18th, all are welcome to celebrate the completion of the school’s building expansion. An Open House will begin at 5 p.m., followed by a Prayer and Dedication service at 7 p.m.
The HHCS expansion project contained two phases: Phase one entailed the construction of two new classrooms for the school’s preschool and Junior Kindergarten programs. Phase two included an interior hallway renovation, a new washroom, an expanded classroom for its Arrowsmith program, an expanded project room, a new art and science room, a new special resource room, a new library and four additional classrooms.
“We feel so blessed to be able to raise $1.8 million to accommodate for these two phases of expansion and we thank so many of our supporters, businesses and the Town of Halton Hills for making this expansion possible,” says Tisny Braam, HHCS Development Director. “We thank our Campaign Cabinet and Expansion Team who worked tirelessly to make all these things happen. This journey has reminded us how faithful and awesome our God is.”
As a school, HHCS was blessed by a steep rise in student enrollment over the past few years, which also led to a lack of space in the building. However, the Cornerstone Capital Campaign was about more than that, says Braam. “It was about hearing God’s calling to build a facility that will provide a place for children and young people to learn lessons that can be foundational. It is about investing in the future faith filled generations that will bear eternal fruit.”
