The Toronto District Christian High School community worked together to host this year’s OFSAA Boys’ A Volleyball championship. Twenty teams participated in the tournament, including eight Christian schools. TDChristian High School’s team made the final game and received the Championship Silver Medal.
The Nov. 23-25 event helped the school community put hospitality in action as they welcomed a variety of visitors into the school. More than 60 students volunteered, including the Grade 12 French class who connected with visiting students from French-speaking schools and a Phys Ed leadership class that took care of lines and scorekeeping for the games. The communications technology teacher recruited students as commentators and many others assisted with various tasks. Parent volunteers helped with cooking and baking.
“It was a great tournament,” says principal William Groot, noting many alumni and school supporters came to cheer for the team. “It was a good experience for students to learn what it means to host, to enjoy, and on top of that to have success as a team.” To learn more about the championship, visit: http://ofsaa.on.ca/boys-volleyball.
