The re-Source Thrift Shop in Barrie had its grand opening this past Saturday, March 5, and there were many new customers that came out to the event. The opening celebrations included an official ribbon cutting, cake, and a silent auction.
The new thrift store, which is run completely by volunteers consisting of eleven board members and an additional twenty volunteers, hopes to donate funds to Timothy Christian School in Barrie as well as other local charities once it begins turning a profit. It sells a wide range of items, from clothing to kitchenware, all of which are donated.
The store’s marketing director, Kathrin Veenstra, is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for the community, and is thrilled to have so many volunteers who are willing to give their time to help support Timothy Christian School. “We have many volunteers who like to help out in the community,” she offered.
Customers were also happy. “This is an excellent store,” shared one of the ladies who came out to check out the new store. “It’s well laid out, clean, and most of all the prices are great!”
