Christian Education Week at Huron Christian School this year was a mix of familiar activities as well as some new to the school events.
An assembly, to which local pastors were invited, kicked off the week’s festivities, followed by a lunch for the pastors.
A Wednesday afternoon student talent show, as well as Friday’s track and field day were both well attended by parents.
The “new” came in the way the school ran its open house this year. Every student was prepared to offer a short “presentation of learning” to parents and visitors who came to tour the classrooms.
The other new activity occurred on Thursday afternoon when the school was empty, as the whole student body was engaged in service projects in the community. These projects ranged from highway and community park cleanup, to classes visiting with and entertaining seniors in three different seniors’ homes in the Clinton community.
“The week was a wonderful opportunity to showcase Christian education in action, both within the school and out in the community,” school members says.
