The Society of Christian Schools in BC (SCSBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Directors of Learning, Darren Spyksma and Greg Gerber. Starting August 1 2014, Spyksma will fill a full-time Director of Learning position and Gerber will fill an 80% Director of Learning position.
Darren Spyksma has 16 years of experience working as a teacher and learning leader in schools throughout many regions in BC. He earned his Bachelor of Education from Trinity Western University and is presently working through his Masters in Teacher Leadership from Dordt College.
Greg Gerber will bring 14 years of experience as a teacher, administrator and consultant in a variety of BC schools to his new role at SCSBC. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Simon Fraser University (SFU), and a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of British Columbia. He will be defending his dissertation for his Doctor in Education from SFU this Fall.
Spyksma and Gerber will be replacing current SCSBC Directors of Learning, Bill deJager, who is soon to retire, and Joanne den Boer, who will be returning to the classroom in the Fall.
