On Friday, September 9th, 2016, Trenton Christian School kicked off their 60th Anniversary year with their annual school BBQ. There were over 250 people in attendance, varying in age from 3 months to 80+. Everyone enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs prepared by the school Board, and there were bouncy castles and bubble balls for the children. There were also several large trucks and pieces of equipment for the young and old to enjoy, supplied by some of our supporting businesses.
The school is supported by families who have given to the school over many generations, as well as by new families whose children are just starting in the Little Sparks Preschool program.
Pictured here is the Meiboom/Vellekoop family. Mrs. C. Meiboom was one of the original families involved in the opening of the school in 1956. Her daughter, Carol Vellekoop, attended Trenton Christian School as a student and has also sent her children there. Eric Vellekoop, Carol’s son, attended as a student, and now his son Logan attends.
