Written
on March 8th, 2013
Wayne Harris, a long-standing teacher at Woodland Christian High School in Breslau and head coach for the men’s volleyball team at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, has received a distinct honour.
Harris was awarded the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Coach of the Year Award at the National Championship Awards banquet recently.
This is the first time a member of the Redeemer men’s volleyball team, the Redeemer Royals, has received such an honour.
This is also the first time since 2005 that a coach from an Ontario institution has won the award.
“It is a fitting end to the season and to the career of coach Harris, as Wayne expects to step down as head coach this season,” a press release states.
