As cold fronts sweep over Ontario, students at Woodstock Christian School (WCS) are taking time to provide warm outerwear for those who need it. This November, Grade Eight, Grade Three and Senior Kidergarten classes challenged their school community to donate 100 coats to the Coats for Kids program, through a ministry called Operation Sharing.
“Though we were a little short of our goal, we were able to deliver 70 coats, 8 snow pants, 30 pairs of mittens/gloves, 16 scarves, 5 pairs of boots and shoes, and 19 hats to Operation Sharing for distribution,” says WCS Principal, Bernice Huinink-Buiter. “We were blessed with the opportunity to warm hearts, heads, bodies, and hands,” she adds.
Operation Sharing is a holistic, Christ focused community that promotes empowerment by responding proactively to the needs of the community, through acts of love and justice.
